What sort of books do you buy? Will you buy everything I bring in?

Unfortunately due to space constraints we cannot buy everything that is offered to us.

With books we are mostly looking for modern paperback fiction, we prefer the smaller size paperbacks to the larger sized paperbacks unless they are the most recent release. Even some modern popular authors we have too much of and cannot buy so it does vary greatly. If you have a lot of one particular author or type of book feel free to email or phone before coming in to discuss whether we are looking for that type of thing.

Do you pay cash for books or is it just store credit?

We do not pay cash when you are returning books you bought at our store - it is store credit. With books that were not purchased originally from our store we will mostly give store credit only, for a very few exceptions we will pay cash.

What's the best time to bring in our stuff to sell?

We can never guarantee how busy or quiet we will be at any particular time so the best thing is to bring them down when it is convenient for you.

Please be aware that it can take some time to work through your goods and work out a price so its best not to do it if you are in a hurry to be somewhere else. In the case of large lots (several boxes) or if we are particularly busy we may ask you to leave your books or music and come back the next day for a price.

Unless it's only one or two things please ensure you are in the shop at least half an hour before closing time if you want them looked at that day.

What hours are you open ?

We are open from 9.00 until 5.00 from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Thursday we open from 9.00 until 6.30 and Saturday we are open from 9.00 until 3.00.

We are closed all Sundays and public holidays.

Do you buy records ?

Yes we do. We are mostly looking for pop/rock/country/jazz type records from the 60s, 70s, 80s. We are very strict on vinyl condition with records so the records will need to be in very good condition. Mostly just albums but we will buy 45s from popular artists or well known songs.

We do not buy 78s.

As checking records can take some time we may ask you to leave them overnight and contact you the next day with a price.
